I am not just an artist, but also a teacher. For some it is simply a way to make an income as an artist--to survive. But for me it is a method to share, grow, and support others. There were so many art teachers in my schooling who encouraged and supported my art. Deb VonSee, Cherie Correll, Dan Lisuk... just to name a few. I still keep in touch with many of my past art teachers, painting with them at art events and going to art exhibits. I believe the adage that "those who teach can't" is nonsense. I am proud of the fact that I have been able to both teach and persue my own art, it is not any easy thing to do but a necessity--keeping me well grounded. The best part about teaching is seeing the smile on a students face, or bringing them to a new point of realization. To me it is all about the student and if I can inspire their efforts, share my knowledge and get them going in the right direction I have done something good with my day.
I have new evening watercolor course for adults starting on Wednesday called "Try before you Buy Watercolors." This class is for the absolute beginner, to get them started and on their way with watercolors. If you are interested in watercolors you will want to sign up for this course.
